CLASSIC COLESLAW
The classic taste still captures the hearts of many. Below is a classic coleslaw recipe you might want to try at home.
What You’ll Need:
4 cups green cabbage, shredded
2 tbsp white onions, grated
1 cup carrot, shredded
2/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoon white vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
Fine white pepper and salt to taste
What You’ll Do:
Wash vegetables with warm water. Slice or shred cabbage and carrots. Set this aside. Grate the onions. In a bowl, toss the vegetables so you can spread them out evenly. Set these aside. Whisk mayonnaise, vinegar, and sugar. Add salt and pepper according to your taste this will be the coleslaw’s dressing. Get the bowl of vegetables and fold the dressing onto them. Make sure to spread the dressing well. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Before serving, toss the salad again. You can also separate the dressing mix to allow others the chance to add it according to their preference.
CREAMY COLESLAW

What You’ll Need:
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp cider vinegar
1 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1 3/4 pounds of green cabbage, shredded
2 medium carrots, shredded or coarsely grated
1 tbsp sugar
Salt
Pepper
1 onion, grated (optional)
What You’ll Do:
Prepare the dressing by whisking vinegar, mustard and lemon juice together. Once everything is fully incorporated, mix in the mayonnaise and sour cream. Mix well while adding sugar, salt, and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate for a few hours. The dressing will be good for 2 days as long as it’s kept in the fridge.
Toss the cabbage, carrots and optional onion. Pour in the dressing and fold. Toss thoroughly so that everything is nicely covered by the dressing. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for two hours. You’ll know when it is ready when the vegetables begin to soften. Remember to toss again before serving.
KFC-INSPIRED COLESLAW

What You’ll Need:
I small green cabbage
1 large carrot, peeled and shredded
2-4 green onions
2 tsp celery seeds
For the dressing:
1 c mayonnaise
1/3 c light cream or milk
1/3 c buttermilk
2 tbsp white vinegar
3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/3 white sugar
1/2 t. Fresh garlic powder
1 t. salt or to taste
1/2 t. ground black pepper
What You’ll Do:
Chop or shred the cabbage and the carrots. Chop the onions as finely as possible. Mix everything in a bowl, and then add the celery seeds. In a separate bowl, mix all the ingredients together using a whisk. Add the dressing to the veggies and fold evenly. Cover, then refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Mix again before serving. Add salt and pepper according to taste. Serve chilled.
